Some sectors of the media have quoted Ministry of Education officials as saying that in the near future English will be the medium of teaching from standard one onwards. Malawian Airlines says it slashed fares by 25 percent on the domestic route as part of Easter celebrations. Spokesperson for the airline Maganizo Mazeze said in a statement the promotional fares are effective tomorrow. “The Easter promotional fares between the Capital, Lilongwe and the Commercial city, Blantyre are effective Thursday, 17th April, 2014 and will run up to Easter Monday, 21st April, 2014,” he said.
